Frequently asked questions(12)
- How do I switch on the automatic headlights?
- Turn the light switch to the AUTO position. The headlights will switch on and off automatically depending on brightness conditions such as twilight, rain, or tunnels. However, automatic headlights do not relieve you of responsibility to manually switch them on in conditions like fog or when driving in the dark, as stated on page 40.
- What should I do if the high beam assistant system shows a fault message?
- If the display shows 'Headlight assist: System fault,' drive to an authorized Audi dealer or Audi Service Facility immediately to have the malfunction corrected. You can still switch the high beams on or off manually in the meantime, as indicated on page 41.
- How do I operate the high beam assistant feature?
- Ensure the light switch is set to AUTO position and the high beam assistant is activated in the Infotainment system. Tap the lever forward to activate it; the indicator light will appear and high beams will switch automatically based on traffic conditions. You can still switch beams manually by tapping forward or pulling back. The system requires the camera view to be unobstructed on page 41.
- Can I fold my exterior mirrors by hand if the power folding function breaks?
- No. If the mirror housing was moved by force, you must fold the mirrors using the power folding function only. Never fold power folding exterior mirrors by hand, as this would impair the mirror mechanism function, as warned on page 44.
- What should I do if the automatic dimming mirror glass breaks?
- If the glass breaks, electrolyte fluid can leak out and irritate skin, eyes, and the respiratory system. Flush immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention if necessary. Additionally, the liquid damages plastic and paint, so clean it quickly with a wet sponge. Consult a physician if there is prolonged exposure, as detailed on pages 44-45.
- How often should I replace my windshield wiper blades?
- Windshield wiper blades should be replaced once or twice each year for safety reasons, as stated on page 47. Clean the blades when you see streaking using a soft cloth and glass cleaner.
- What is the recommended temperature setting for automatic climate control?
- The manual recommends pressing the AUTO button and setting the temperature to 72 °F (22 °C).
- When should I use recirculation mode?
- Switching recirculation mode on when driving through a tunnel or when sitting in traffic is recommended. However, you should not use recirculation mode for an extended period of time since no fresh air is drawn in, as this can cause windows to fog up and increase the risk of an accident.
- Why is there water under my vehicle after using air conditioning?
- Condensation from the cooling system can drip and form a puddle of water under the vehicle. This is normal and does not mean there is a leak.
- What should I do before using the windshield washer in freezing temperatures?
- When the temperature is below freezing, only use the windshield washer system after the windshield has been warmed by the climate control system, as the washer fluid could freeze on the windshield and impair visibility.
- How long does the rear window defogger stay on?
- The rear window heater only operates when the engine is running and switches off automatically after a few minutes, depending on the outside temperature. To prevent automatic switching off, press and hold the REAR button for more than 2 seconds.
- Who should not use the seat heating function?
- Individuals with reduced sensitivity to pain or temperature could develop burns when using the seat heating function. To reduce the risk of injury, these individuals should not use seat heating.
