Frequently asked questions(12)
- Can assist systems replace my attention as a driver?
- No. The manual states that as the driver, you have complete responsibility for all driving operations at all times, and the assist systems cannot replace the driver's attention. You must give your full attention to driving and be ready to intervene in traffic situations at all times.
- What should I do if the message 'Driver assistance systems: currently limited' appears?
- If this message appears, one or more driver assistance systems is limited or unavailable. You should select the messages tab in the instrument cluster to display additional information, take note of the information, and adapt your driving style accordingly.
- What objects might the sensors and cameras fail to detect?
- Sensors and cameras have spots where the surrounding area cannot be detected. Objects, animals, and people may only be detected with limitations or may not be detected at all. Examples include objects above the coverage area (such as bumpers on parked cars), low obstacles, narrow objects like barrier chains or poles, projecting objects such as trailer draw bars, and objects with certain surfaces and structures.
- How do I turn assist systems on or off?
- You can open the Driver assistance menu by pressing the designated button or selecting VEHICLE > Driver assistance on the home screen. For vehicles with profile selection, you can select the Maximum profile to activate all systems, the Basic profile for only basic systems, or All off for no systems. For vehicles with standard display, press the on/off button for each desired system. You can also select the Individual profile to turn specific systems on and off individually.
- What are the limitations of traffic sign recognition?
- Traffic sign recognition may be unavailable or only partially available in situations including poor visibility (snow, rain, fog, heavy spray), glare from oncoming traffic or the sun, high speeds, covered camera visual field (dirt or stickers), covered or non-standard traffic signs, damaged or bent signs, signs on electronic sign holders, or when navigation data is out-of-date. Under some circumstances, it may not detect traffic signs correctly or at all, and may not display the correct speed limit.
- What should I do to maintain proper sensor and camera function?
- The sensors and cameras and the areas around them must not be obstructed or painted. Make sure sensors and cameras are free of snow, ice, and other deposits. Do not apply attachments, stickers, adhesive, paint, or similar objects to sensors or extend into their visual field. On vehicles with factory-installed front license plate brackets, replace only with same-size, same-material brackets. Do not install brackets on vehicles without factory-installed ones, as this could impair system function. Exterior mirrors with peripheral cameras must be fully folded out for correct functionality.
- How does the automatic climate control system maintain the set temperature?
- The deluxe automatic climate control system automatically maintains a temperature once it has been set. In all heating mode functions except defrost, the blower only switches to a higher speed once the coolant has reached a certain temperature.
- Why is water pooling under the vehicle after using air conditioning normal?
- Condensation from the cooling system can drip and form a puddle of water under the vehicle. This is normal and does not mean there is a leak.
- What is the hazard of leaving recirculation mode on for extended periods?
- You should not leave the recirculation mode on for an extended period of time. This can cause the windows to fog, which increases the risk of an accident. Additionally, using recirculation mode for an extended period can cause the CO2 concentration inside the vehicle to increase, which can have a negative effect on the well-being of vehicle occupants and increase the risk of an accident. Turn off recirculation mode and ventilate the vehicle at the first sign of unwellness.
- What precautions should be taken when using seat heating?
- To reduce the risk of damage to the seat heating elements, do not kneel on the seats or place heavy pressure on one area. Only use the seat heating when the seat surface is dry, only put dry items on the seat surfaces, do not spill liquids on the seat surfaces, and do not cover the seat surfaces with protective covers or items such as jackets, blankets, or bags when the seat heating is on. Individuals with reduced sensitivity to pain or temperature must ensure seat heating is off when starting the drive to reduce the risk of burns.
- When does the rear window defogger turn off automatically?
- The rear window defogger turns off automatically after 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the outside temperature. To prevent it from turning off automatically, press and hold the button for more than three seconds, and it will remain on until the ignition is turned off.
- Who is qualified to service the A/C system?
- The climate control system may only be serviced by qualified and certified technicians who have been trained according to country-specific standards, for example SAE standards J2845 and J2911. The A/C system must only be serviced by qualified technicians.
