Frequently asked questions(12)
- What should I do if the traffic light information system displays incorrect data?
- The manual states that the actual traffic signs on your route always take precedence over the information on the display. As the driver, you are always responsible for adhering to locally applicable laws and regulations. Incorrect values may be supplied by the camera-based traffic sign recognition or if the map material on the navigation system is out of date.
- At what speeds does the fatigue warning system recommend a break?
- The fatigue warning system recommends a break via a display in the instrument cluster at speeds of 65 km/h and above. If severe fatigue is detected, a tone will also sound. The system may misinterpret driving behaviour at speeds below approximately 60 km/h or above approximately 130 km/h.
- What is the minimum speed for cruise control and speed limiter operation?
- The cruise control system helps you maintain a speed of approximately 20 km/h and above. The speed limiter helps you avoid exceeding a speed of approximately 30 km/h and above.
- How does adaptive cruise assist respond when a vehicle in front changes lanes?
- If a vehicle which has already been detected by the adaptive cruise assist turns off or changes lane, and another stationary vehicle is located in front of that vehicle, the system will not react to the stationary vehicle. This is a system limitation that may require driver intervention.
- Can the adaptive cruise assist detect motorcycles and cyclists?
- Vehicles that are not clearly discernible, such as a motorcycle or cyclist travelling in front of you, and vehicles with high ground clearance or a protruding load, are often identified late or are not detected at all. The system does not react to pedestrians, animals, or crossing or oncoming traffic.
- What should I do if the fatigue warning indicates severe fatigue?
- The manual states the system has identified a severe level of fatigue and recommends: Take a break. The manual also warns that you should never drive when you are tired as it poses a risk of accident, and on long journeys you should make sure to take adequate breaks at regular intervals. As the driver, you are always responsible for ensuring that you are fit to drive.
- What should I do when a warning lamp lights up in my instrument cluster?
- Note the information displayed in the instrument cluster. Some warning lamps may be accompanied by a driver message and warning tone. You can use the controls on the multi-function steering wheel to access the second display tab (driver messages) to see more details.
- Why do some warning lamps light up when I switch on the ignition?
- Certain warning and indicator lamps light up when the ignition is switched on and must go back out when the engine is switched on or once the vehicle is moving. This is normal operation.
- Can warning lamps be displayed in different colours?
- Yes, some of the warning lamps may be displayed in different colours.
- What does the central warning lamp indicate?
- The central warning lamp lights up to indicate a general function or fault. When it illuminates, you should note the information provided in the instrument cluster.
- How can I view warning messages again if they have been masked by other displays?
- To display a warning or message again, use the controls on the multi-function steering wheel to select the second display tab (driver messages) as referenced on page 14.
- At what distance does the parking aid sound a continuous warning tone?
- A continuous warning tone sounds when the vehicle is less than approximately 0.30 m away from an obstacle for rear parking aid, or when the front or rear is less than approximately 0.30 m from an obstacle for parking aid plus. For obstacles on the side, a continuous tone sounds when they are less than approximately 0.20 m away.
